How to Deep Clean Your Oven (Without Harsh Fumes)

What you'll need

• 1/2 cup baking soda
• Water and a spray bottle of white vinegar
• A non-scratch scrubber and microfibre cloths
• Rubber gloves

Step 1: Empty the oven

Take out the racks and soak them in hot, soapy water in your bathtub or sink.

Step 2: Apply the paste

Mix baking soda with a few tablespoons of water until it's spreadable. Coat the inside of the oven, avoiding the heating elements. Let it sit for at least 12 hours.

Step 3: Wipe and spray

Wipe away the paste with a damp cloth. Spray vinegar on any leftover residue — it will foam — then wipe again.

Step 4: Scrub the racks

Scrub the soaked racks, rinse and dry before putting them back.
